BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Return of the Condor Heroes is one of the greatest love story that I had read. It was the first novel by Jin Yong that I read. Ironically, I found it very boring intially, and had stopped reading the novel after Vol 1. Actually, my friends had always "promoted" Jin Yong's novels to me, but I thought it was not my cup of tea since it's a pugilistic novel. Nonetheless, after viewing this HK serial, my interest for this particular novel rekindled, consequently I continued reading the rest of the novel and it is one of my favourite novels now. I have also become a great fan of Jin Yong's novels. I read this Jin Yong's novel from the point of a love story more than as a pugilistic novel. This novel described the deep seated love between Yang Guo and his teacher Xiao Long Nu, whom he referred to as Gu Gu, meaning Aunt as she was 4 yrs older than him. Both of them went through a lot of hardships before reuniting with each other, only to find themselves being seperated time and over again, the most tormenting being the 16 year part as Xiao long Nu committed suicide at the cliff. Fortunately, they finally got together and lived happily ever after
